This popular Diploma course consists of three
Modules, covering puberty to the menopause. The popular Midwives Module I covers
conception to post-partum and may be taken separately. It creates a whole new
dimension and greater fulfilment for the midwife.
Eligibility
This
course, (Module 1), will be of particular benefit to Registered Midwives or
nurses. There are no pre-requisites. The short Homeopathy Basic Course is
included.
Syllabus
Basic
Homeopathy:
Clearing the way for a health pregnancy / Second
and Third Trimester: Varicosity / Constipation / Backache / Ligament Pain / Pre-Eclampsia
/ Eclampsia Emergencies / False and Premature Labour / Breech Presentation.
Birthing the Baby:
Preparing for labour-
/ Prevention of Caesarean / Prevention of Episiotomy / Basic Birthing Kit /
Midwives' Practitioners' Kit/ Phases of Labour and what to expect/ Following a
woman's natural rhythms.
Post-Partum:
Early
bonding / Delivering the Placenta / Post-Partum Hemorrhage / Preventing
Infection / Episiotomy First Aid / Dealing with Grief / Breast Feeding /
Lactation Problems / Post-Partum Depression / Sub involution of Uterus /
Renewing of Sexual Activity / Renewal of Cycles.
The average duration is 6 months, but
students may study at their own pace as they are not tied to a lecture
programme. Their personal one-to-one tutor will help them achieve whatever goal
they set themselves.
Award
A
Certificate in 'Women's Health (Midwives) is awarded on the successful
completion of the course.
* Students may
continue their studies by taking Modules II and III for the Diploma in Women's
Health.
