A supervised attendance at approved registered clinics*, within reasonable
traveling distance for the student where possible is arranged by the Institute,
for observation of clinical cases with full post consultation analysis with the
practitioner.
The
internship provides a minimum of 100 hours of recorded clinical experience and
instruction in ethics and code of practice to meet or exceed various
accreditation standards.

Eligibility
Holders
of the General, Veterinary, Dental or Pharmacy Diplomas of the Institute, or
equivalent awards of other approved college or the Postgraduate Award of the
Institute.
Completion
of the Clinical Internship qualifies the student for the award of the Diploma
of the Institute at Practitioner Level, the DIHom (Pract.) and membership of
certain professional bodies.
Practical
assistance is given to all graduates at practitioner level in establishing a
practice in the
United Kingdom

Awards
A
certificate is awarded on satisfactory completion of the Internship, plus the
Advanced Diploma at Practitioner Level, entitling the use of the letters DIHom
(Pract.). Holders are eligible to apply for full membership of certain
professional bodies in the United Kingdom
